Greetings All! :hi

What follows is a list of all the emotes we have. Thought it might be helpful for everyone to see the emote and its corresponding code. Hope you all get a kick out of 'em!


There are several ways to see and use the MRU emotes (aka smilies.) On the Reply screen you will see a box with a little smiley face. Click it, and a drop-down menu will appear with the emotes. Simply click the one you want, and it will appear in your reply.


Alternatively, you can go to THIS PAGE (http://www.misfitsrus.com/forums/misc.php?do=showsmilies) which shows all the MRU emotes. It can be helpful to leave this page open in a separate tab or window, for quick and easy access. Or you can consult this thread. Both lists are in alphabetical order of the code words, which should make it easier to find what you’re looking for. :wink


Finally if you know the code name for the particular emote you want to use you can just type a colon (:) followed by the word. For example :smooch will give you :smooch This is probably the fastest way to go (since you don’t have to scroll and search) for emotes you use frequently.


If you want to use an emote that isn’t hosted here (seriously, is that possible?) :thud you can insert it by using the “Insert Image” button on your reply screen. That would be the little button that looks like the picture of a mountain. Clicking that will pop up a box that allows you to insert the URL of the emote you want to use. Click ”OK”, and it will appear in your post.

Is there any way tweek our drop down emot grid just a tad? There are some on there that are little used (if ever), and we could maybe add some of the more popular ones. Maybe add :love, popcorn, and some others.

It depends on the board software that you are operating with and how much space you are allocated. I believe Runboard had something like 100 emotes that could be used, in total, but I'm not familiar with how Pro Boards operates. Emotes take a fair bit of memory so most free forum sites will limit how many you can add.
